we're told it happened near the king road fit in san jose >> dan, just another dangerous night on interstate 680 here in san jose. this time, chp confirming they are investigating another freeway shooting, as you mentioned. 680 southbound at king road. we know the driver drove on. that's where we got the first look at the damage. chf says the bullet hit the left rear window, then exited through the passenger window. it happened just before 8:40 tonight.

century blfltd. people at the nearby cinemas in century plaza shopping center says the theater was evacuated. no words on that ignited the fire. in san jose, traffic and public safety are colliding. it is building three new fire stations and relocating two others. this city is looking to improve emergency spahn times. the goal is to get to the scene within eight minutes in 80%80% the calls. time is of the essence. >> i think taking traffic into consideration, it's wonderful. you can -- they don't have to wait in line, basically to get to where they need to go. >> a $650 million public safety bond is helping to pay for the fire stations. new developments in san francisco's effort to build a better bay area by making

investors found the utility responsible. 580 million of the $1 billion settlement will go to agencies affected by the fire, including the town of paradise. it will be divvied up in the wine country including santa rosa. they were all devastated by the 2017 fieshsz. there's a list of items. >> we have a tremendous amount of rhode island damage, infrastructure damage we still need to do. >> the remaining $5 goes to the the settlement was reached after months of negotiating. >> money is contingent upon pg&e getting through the bankruptcy

he's given him the gift of his hands. our reporter explains how the prosthetic bionic hands were made. >> reporter: this is the moment he got the use of his hands back thanks to a group of engineering students from cal poly co-led by austin conrad. >> to see his face light up was really cool. >> reporter: that's what drove him to work tire lesley to build a bionic and prosthetic hand. his left hand is essentially fingerless because of a car fire last year. he lost most of his family in the crash today. >> when you work with somebody who's been through that much every part of you is thinking what can we do and how can we do it so he can have some feeling of normalcy. roimt with both hans he can make
